DEED

As a research lab and an exemplar of immersive international field programs, DEED is committed to modeling more sustainable and equitable ways for collaboration between artisans and designers. We recognize the great need that exists in today’s world for creative people who understand how to work effectively within a range of local and global contexts. Furthermore, we aim to bring together both the classroom knowledge of students at The New School and the traditional knowledge of artisans in emerging economies, ensuring that the individuals in each group acquire new skills and a new approach toward future projects.

With all of these reasons and more as motivation, DEED is delighted to be launching an internship program with four artisan enterprises this summer. In all positions, New School students will immerse themselves in the operations of the enterprise, thereby gaining invaluable insight into the achievements and challenges of the artisan industry. All available positions are listed below, though keep in mind you will need to log into The New School’s Career Successlink to formally apply. We look forward to learning more about you and your passion for artisan craft!
